Hi folks!

This page is dedicated to the little piece of theater I created this year (with the help of director Jim Semmelman) which is based on my life. It’s called "Different Stages" for a couple reasons – there’s the obvious: I've played on a lot of different stages across the country; but, it’s also about the different stages I’ve been through on the journey that has taken me to where I am today.  Along the way, I learned that saying yes to opportunities can take you places that you may have never thought of going.  I’d like to pass that on. So take a look, take a listen, and come along for the ride.

As I was growing up on a farm outside of a small town in the Midwest, I never dreamed of doing any of this. It wasn't until High School at Nebraska City Lourdes that I began to embrace opportunities.  It started when I decided guitar class would be my elective. Through classic rock and that first guitar my desire to perform in front of people was born.

High school ended and through another set of random opportunities, I wound up in the school of music at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (Go Huskers!!). I spent undergrad and grad school training in music and acting.

With a strong background in classical music and musical theater, my next move was clear: New York City. I loved it immediately. I started making my way as a singer/actor and found a fair amount of success.  I landed a role in the Oklahoma! National Tour.  When you’re on the road, there’s a lot of down time travelling from town to town.  I was also going through some hard times personally and started missing home. I found an outlet – writing my own music.

And then, my proof that dreams really do come true! When I was in college I saw a show I had never heard of at the time, Les Miserables. It was the most amazing thing I'd ever seen. From the moment I saw it, my dream as an actor was to be in that show. I was fortunate enough to realize that dream playing the role of Javert. I got to sing one of the most amazing songs in all of musical theater.

And now it’s your turn to be part of the journey. I'd love to bring my show to the entire country, one school or theater at a time and I’ve teamed up with the Fender Music Foundation to helpraise money and put guitars in the hands of more kids and classrooms across the country.
